Getting the best results from compatible ink cartridges

| A few common problems with compatible ink cartridges complete with solutions |
Compatible printer cartridges on the whole can give results equal to the more expensive OEM or manufacturer’s original ink cartridges, however there are a few simple rules to follow;
 |
Cartridges not recognised
|
This applies to Epson compatible ink cartridges and Canon Compatible ink cartridges more so than any other brands especially those cartridges fitted with the smart chip.
Sometimes the compatible ink cartridges can fail to be recognised by the printer or the printing quality is vastly reduced. Customers are quite rightly unhappy with the product and in these cases there are simple solutions to get equal to OEM results otherwise there would be no point in the manufacturer of cheaper compatible cartridges as nobody would buy them after they had tried them once and failed.
As a rule, compatible ink cartridges especially Epson need to be used as a full set with no original Epson cartridges in the printer, this is not always the rule but to avoid any problems it is best to stick to this. When fitting the compatible inks for the first time, remove all printer cartridges from the printer, turn the printer off. Turn it back on then fit compatible cartridges only, no originals.
We know that some of the original cartridges that you remove may not yet be empty, but in the long term it will save you a lot of money. After fitting your new cartridges run the cleaning program, your new compatible cartridges should then give the desired results, and remember you need only do this the 1st time you use compatible inkjet cartridges after which you can replace the inks as and when they become empty as normal.

Print quality

Another question we get asked quite often is that the results are not as good as original Cartridges.
Again this is normally because there are original inkjet cartridges in the printer. The solution is as previously explained, but as opposed to the cartridges not being recognised it is because as with original ink cartridges, the ink in compatible printer cartridges is formulated to be used in conjunction with other compatible cartridges, so if you mix the inks with original cartridges it may not mix in the exact precise quantities designed to be sprayed by the minute jets in your printer, causing distortions of colour.
On the whole if you stick to these simple rules you can expect the same results as using OEM products. Just one final thing, remember to remove all seals and clips before fitting, as you would be surprised at the amount of customers who forget to do this.
