Q - I still haven't received my order
A - Printcartridgedirect.com makes every effort to post your orders and have them at your door the next day. Unfortunately, we have no control on how Royal Mail conduct their service. Maybe this link will help to understand the problems faced with posting orders and a possible reason as to why your order has not been delivered.
Please don't hesitate to contact us and we will do everything to sort out the problem.
Q - What is a "smart chip?"
A - A "smart chip" is a small chip or circuit board which you can see on the ink cartridge. It's purpose, on all original cartridges, is to allow and track how much ink is used. The chip sends information to the printer and when the preset amount of ink is used, regardless of wether the cartridge is empty or not, the printer reports that the ink cartridge needs to be changed.
All ink cartridges available at Printcartridgedirect.com which require a "smart chip" are programmed to let the ink run until it's empty. This in turn saves you money by providing you with more ink per cartridge.
Q- How many pages will the cartridges print?
A - This question is hard to answer exactly as there are many different variables to consider such as;
- What is being printed? - Photos or text or both?
- What level of quality is being used? Draft or best?
All original cartridges are pre-programmed to only print a certain amount of pages before the ink cartridge needs to be replaced, regardless of how much ink is still in the cartridge. All our cartridges will print until the ink cartridge is empty.
Q - Will using a compatible cartridge void my warranty?
A - No. Incidents where a customer's warranty was "voided" hasn't been recorded at Printcartridgedirect.com. Major printer manufacturers advise their customers against the use of compatible ink cartridges. It is illegal for the manufacturer to prevent any customer from using toner cartridges from other sources than the original manufacturer.
Q - My printer loads several sheets of paper at a time
A - Only load the recommended amount of paper and always make sure that you fan the paper before putting it into the tray. On Epson printers please make sure that the paper thickness lever on the right of the machine is set correctly.
Q - I have installed the new cartridge but pages are blank when I print
A - Have you removed the tear off strip from the top of the cartridge? If yes please perform 2 to 3 cleaning cycles and then do a print test pattern.
Q - My print has faint white lines through it
A - Most print heads have a series of tiny holes through which ink has to pass. Should any of these become blocked you will experience these faint white lines through you printout. A few cleaning cycles should clear the problem.
